Founded in 2015 by Waaberi—a name echoing Somalia’s poetic tradition of “Waab” (meaning “to craft with care”)—our story began with a simple mission: to revive the soul of Somali coffee culture while creating a space where everyone belongs.
From Humble Beginnings
What started as a passion project in Mogadishu—where Waaberi roasted beans in small batches using traditional dallah techniques—soon grew into a neighborhood haven. Locals flocked for our spiced Dawa Tea, cardamom-infused espresso, and the vibrant spirit of shaax (Somali tea) gatherings.
